The Manufacturing Industrial Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes for Erie’s curtain wall products. This role will focus heavily on process improvement, aiming to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production engineering, with a proven track record of implementing successful process improvements in a manufacturing environment
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current production processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop detailed process maps and perform root cause analysis to pinpoint sources of inefficiency and waste.
- Utilize data analysis tools to measure and evaluate production performance metrics.
- Design and implement process optimization strategies to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and improve throughput.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Research and stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements relevant to curtain wall manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies, equipment, and processes that enhance production efficiency.
- Standardize production processes and ensure adherence to established procedures and protocols.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to detect and address defects or inconsistencies in production.
- Analyze quality data and implement corrective actions to address recurring issues.
- Assist with training and support to production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
- Advises management, engineering and production regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production process.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage team members to contribute ideas for process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in production engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3-5 Years) in a production engineering role, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex production issues.
- Proficiency in using CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
