Job Description:An Automation Estimator is responsible to produce accurate quotes, proposals, and estimates for Customer review.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, understand, and summarize customer request for quotes (RFQ’s).
- Contact customers for clarification or other correspondence as required.
- Review customer supplied data, standards, and specifications.
- Develop internal equipment concepts and feasibilities.
- Apply and input appropriate hours, material costs, and purchase costs to result in accurate cost models.
- Prepare formal quotes and proposals for submission to the Sales Department and Customers.
- Work with internal departments to establish cost models based on actual data.
- Work with outside supplier base to obtain quotes/pricing on products to assure pricing accuracy.
- Other duties as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of Automation, Secondary Equipment, Special Machines, Robotics, Vision Systems, and Material Handling.
- Plastic part processing such as ultrasonic welding, joining, punching/forming, adhesive apply and bonding systems, and various assembly process such as insertion, clipping, fastener driving, and riveting.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and data manipulation.
- Direct experience with Mechanical Design, Machining Processes, Mechanical Assembly, and Controls/ Electrical/ Pneumatic / Hydraulic systems an asset.
- Understanding of quality systems (ISO), 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles

Education:
- College Graduate in the disciplines of either Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
