Job Description: A Fixture Estimator is responsible to produce accurate quotes, proposals, and estimates for Customer review.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review, understand, and summarize customer request for quotes (RFQ’s).
2. Contact customers for clarification or other correspondence as required.
3. Review customer supplied data and build standards/specifications.
4. Apply and input appropriate hours, material costs, and purchase costs to produce accurate cost models.
5. Prepare formal quotes and proposals for submission to the Sales Department and Customers.
6. Interact with internal departments to establish cost models based on actual data.
7. Work with outside supplier base to obtain quotes/pricing on products to assure pricing accuracy.
8. Other duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

1. Knowledge of Gauges, Checking Fixtures, Automated Data Collection Fixtures, Work-Holding Fixtures, End of Arm Tooling, and general Part-Holding Specialty Tooling.
2. Experience with Automotive OEM’s and Major Tier Suppliers.
3. Familiarity with SolidWorks and data review.
4. GD&T and general fixture concepts such as Attribute Checks, Simulations, Master Parts, and SPC.
5. Direct experience with Mechanical Design, Machining Processes, Metrology, and Fixture Build, an asset.
6. Understanding of quality systems (ISO), 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles

Education:

1. High School Diploma required.
2. College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline and asset.
3. Direct relevant work experience.
