Job Description:
Responsible for generating CNC Lathe programs and Machining Components while maintaining machine up-time and productivity targets.
Reporting to: Plant Manager – Advanced Manufacturing
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, write, and run CNC Lathe programs.
• Determine set-ups on machines for optimal productivity and accuracy.
• Machine work pieces according to specifications.
• Inspect own work.
• Maintain all necessary documentation and records.
• Drive continuous improvement in programming and manufacturing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties as required.
Skills & Experience:
• Ability to read and understand Part Prints, GD&T, and Technical Specifications.
• Operation of Okuma lathes and controllers an asset.
• Direct experience with multi-axis lathes, live tooling, and automated material feeding systems.
• Strong computer skills with SolidWorks and GibbsCam experience and asset.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• 5S and Lean Manufacturing methods.
Requirements and Education:
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work shifts.
• Minimum High School diploma.
• Technical School Graduate or equivalent experience.
