Join Our Team as a Permanent Emergency Department Physician at West Nipissing General Hospital!

Located at 725 Coursol Road, Sturgeon Falls, ON, Canada, West Nipissing General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Permanent Emergency Department Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ED Physician will be responsible for assessing all visits presenting to the Emergency Department during the shift, responsible for the calls from Nursing Care Unit (NCU) and Complex Continuing Care (CCC) after 22:00 hours until 07:00 hours regarding patient care. The ED physician will see, on average, 55 patients per 24-hour shift.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-quality care to patients in the emergency department, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment.
2. Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
3. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
4. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with medical advancements.
5. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Support & Resources:

1. Physician Assistant onsite Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
2. Second Physician on-call for back-up as needed
3. Supportive services also include: Diagnostic Imaging (CT scanner), Respiratory Therapy, Physiotherapy, Discharge Planning, Laboratory, and numerous visiting specialists, including cardiology, urology, otolaryngology, psychiatry, and gastroenterology etc.

Requirements/Qualifications:

1. Medical degree from an accredited institution and valid license to practice in Ontario.
2. Certification in Emergency Medicine or equivalent experience in an emergency department setting.
3. Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage a wide range of medical emergencies.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
5. Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
